On October 3, a book will come out, that I am predicting will be one of the hottest books of the Christmas season. Hardcore Star Wars fans already know what I'm talking about, and they've already pre-ordered the brand new science fiction book, 40 Stories Celebrating 40 Years of Star Wars From A Different Point of View.
The concept of this book is truly fascinating. In honor of the fortieth anniversary of the classic film that introduced the world to characters like Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader, more than 40 established and well known authors have lent their voices to the re-telling of the original Star Wars story. Each of the short stories within the book reimagines a moment from the film, but through the eyes of a supporting character.
Authors and artists include Wil Wheaton, Pablo Hidalgo, Aunt Beru, Rae Carson, Ben Acker, Jeffery Brown, Jason Fry, Christie Golden, Elizabeth Wein, Glen Weldon and many, many others. And, if the amazing concept of and best-selling authors involved with this book aren't enough to convince you, the authors of each of these stories have forgone any payment for their work. Instead the proceeds will be donated to First Book, a nonprofit that provides learning essentials for teachers and organizations that serve children in need. In addition, Penguin/Random House has donated $100,000 to First Book, to celebrate the launch of this book, and Disney/LucasFilms has donated 100,000 children's books.
If you haven't pre-ordered the book yet, you may do so by clicking here, or you can always wait until its official release date, October 3, 2017. This will make the absolute best gift for the Star Wars fan in your life.
