Great British Bake Off - As Good As It Was On The BBC?

Bake Off looks the same on Channel 4

There was public outcry when it was announced Channel 4 had bought the rights to the Great British Bake Off, but after the BBC had infringed on Love productions' copyright by creating a similar show, Hair, with an in house production team, Love decided to go with Channel 4 and series 8 of the show is currently airing on Channel 4 this September.

But is it as good as it was when it was on the BBC? Well, Mary Berry, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have departed and been replaced by Noel Fielding and Sandy Toksvig as hosts and Paul Hollywood returned to be joined by fellow judge Prue Leith.

Noel Fielding and Sandy Toksvig are the new hosts of GBBO
The format of the show is the same, even the tent looks the same. The funny bits that Mel and Sue used to do, Noel and Sandy do (Though, they may be a bit less funnier as their chemistry seems a little forced) but generally, the show has won over the public who were initially against it. It's still rather popular, despite everyone saying it would die a death on Channel 4 because the BBC made it great. Though, there's still time for it to do so. This is only the first series on Channel 4 but from early reports, things are looking good.
