Timothy Dalton as James Bond 007. |
1. The Gibraltar Land Rover Chase (The Living Daylights, 1987)
Truly an epic start to Dalton's first Bond film, we begin on an MI6 training exercise on Gibraltar where an agent is killed by an assassin and tries to speed away in an Army Land Rover, Bond, hot on his heels, jumps on top of the Land Rover and rides it most of the way down the mountain before tearing through the roof to grapple with the bad guy and crash them off the side of the mountain.
2. The Ice Chase (The Living Daylights, 1987)
Escaping from Czechoslovakia, Bond, Kara and her Cello are chased by the KGB through the snowy mountain roads as they try to get into Austria in Bond's Aston Martin (A welcome return as Bond hadn't driven one since On Her Majesty's Secret Service). After the Aston is abandoned, and subsequently destroyed by Bond, Bond is glad he insisted Kara brought her cello.
3. The Fight With Necros (The Living Daylights, 1987)
Necros and Bond finally have it out a few thousand feet above Afghanistan in this brilliant scene. Bond and Necros scrabble over a netting hanging off the back of a cargo plane until finally, Necros gets the boot!
4. Capturing Sanchez (Licence To Kill, 1989)
The pre titles sequence to Dalton's second movie had Bond and Felix on their way to church for Felix's wedding to Della. Of course, a huge drug dealer that Felix had been chasing after decides to come out of hiding and this is their only chance to grab him, which Bond manages to, spectacularly, by 'going fishing'. James and Felix even get to the church on time by parachuting in!
5. Bond's Licence to Kill is Revoked (Licence To Kill, 1989)
After Bond fails to report for a mission because he's going after Sanchez, M pulls Bond in and revokes his Licence To Kill. Bond offers his resignation to an exasperated M who declares "We're not a country club, 007!". When Bond doesn't give up his gun, he escapes, with M muttering "God help you Commander."
6. Bond and Pam in the Dockside Bar (Licence To Kill, 1989)
In this exciting scene, Bond and Pam meet at this Dockside bar and are followed by Dario and his men. A barfight ensues and Bond and Pam aquit themselves admirably, Dario even believing he's killed Pam.
7. Dario Gets Shredded (Licence To Kill, 1989)
After staying behind to make sure James gets shredded, Dario doesn't bank on Pam showing up to shoot him. Unfortunately, that doesn't work but Bond manages to pull Dario into the shredder and then shout at Pam to "switch the bloody machine off!" Yay!
