The eponymous debut album by Dominic Williams leaves me wanting more but, at the same time, hoping for nothing else. The opening track is a suitably depressing lyric drenched in a psychadelic guitar riff that is indeed 'Easy To Lose' if one isn't paying attention.
After the opening, we fast forward into the 70s with the quasi-reggae track 'Vintage Girl' in which it seems our dear Dominic went all out with his wah-wah pedal while telling us all about his Vintage Girl. After that, we slip into the lazy instrumental of 'Heathrow Airport (At Night)', Indeed, it must be at night as London Heathrow has never been this laid back in the day time. The slide solo is quite inspired on this track and it might be the standout of the album. The next track, 'I've Got Everything You Need' might be a bit of a grand statement, considering that it's a live Acoustic take with more than a couple of mistakes but Dominic's voice is on form and while the solo is a little rough, it's pleasant enough to listen to.
After that though, it's back to more depression with 'Pain (Will It Be Round This Way Tomorrow?)' which is both inspiring and disheartening at the same time. How does he manage to do that, I wonder? The last track is again another live acoustic take. 'I Wanna' seems to convey a sense of frustration to do something but at the same time laziness not to do it, the final lyric 'I want to do it today but tut tut, it looks like rain' is a prime example of this. All in all, the album is not a bad first effort.
